JB Announces Partnership with NOVENT
JB Industries has entered into a partnership with NOVENT to supply the HVACR channel with refrigerant locking caps for the service ports of systems. NOVENT created the original tamper resistant refrigerant locking caps to help prevent access by unauthorized personnel. The patented caps are secured on to a unit with a special key sold only to certified HVAC technicians and provide a tamper resistant barrier to reduce theft, vandlaism, the accidental mixing of refrigerant, and to deter "huffing". The ICC developes codes and standards to which systems need to be compliant. Each state and municipatlity adopt codes at their discretion. Refrigerant locking caps are now required on outdoor refrigerant systems to be compliant with IMC 2009 1101.10 and IRC 2009 code. States and municipalities are adopting IMC and IRC 2009 as it comes up in the adoption process. Are you and your customers up to code? New Heat Pump Manifold
Heat pumps use the same refrigeration cycle for heating and cooling. A heat pump can change which coil is the condenser and which is the evaporator by way of a reversing valve. Using a traditional manifold to service a heat pump is not advisable as the low side of the gauge will be damaged when the system goes into heating mode. Therefore, both gauges of the manifold must be designed to handle the high pressures of the heating mode. The JB heat pump manifold has two 3-1/8" glow-in-the-dark Class One 1% accuracy gauges designed with 800 psi to handle the heat pump pressures. Because of the significant temperature glide on R-407C, the pressure-temperature scale has two sections. For temperatures below 50 degrees, the scale is based on saturated vapor (dew point DP). For temperatures aboutve 50 degrees, the scale is based on saturated liquid (bubble point BP). Use the DP for superheat calculations and the BP for subcooling calculations. New Enhancements to Eliminator Vacuum Pump
JB has made some enhancements to our ELIMINATOR vacuum pump. Now with a 1/2" NPT handle for a more ergonomic fit and to help exhaust more efficiently. The oil capacity has increased for cooler running temperatures and reduced contamination. We have increased the spacing between the intake tee and handle to give you more room to operate. The oil fill is located on the cover for easier and cleaner oil filling. We have changed the paint to a heavy duty hammertone material that will resist heat from the sun on rooftops. DV-40 Supernova Digital Vacuum Gauge
The award winning DV-40 Supernova Digital Vacuum gauge is now available. Winner of the prestigious Dealer Design Awards for tool category Bronze Medal, the supernova features a large, easy to read LCD screen and a brass fitting connected to the display along with a lengthy flexible cord for those hard to reach areas. The unit has many programmable features that a user can customize to match work habits. Programmable features include alarming, backlights, and auto shutoff. The DV-40 is factory calibrated and requires no additional calibration. If the sensors become contaminated, the DV-40 can be cleaned with simple alcohol. The LCD screen is large so that a technician can read it from a distance and the backlight and alarm are user defined so the technician can program the unit to alarm when a certain reading is attained. This will allow the technician to perform other tasks instead of waiting for evacuation to complete. The user interaction and interface are unlike anything available on the market. We have taken a few of our best selling access valves and caps and packaged them in a convenient display jar. Each jar has an individual label with the bar code to make scanning easy. Saves counter personnel time to directly sell individual units without having to look up part numbers in the system. Order the jar once, then just restock it as needed.
